This unit prevents the phones from ringing during incoming calls. The target has no idea that someone is calling, and so they'll miss all of their calls. Answering machines, Fax machines and voice messaging also will not activate. Outgoing dialed calls are completely unaffected and go through normally. But with this unit, instead or gelling just unanswered ringing, the caller is diverted to a telephone company disconnect message! ("We're sorry, you have reached a number that has been disconnected") Just imagine the incredible havoc this could create.
